Master of Science in Health Science
(MSHS) program
The Master of Science in Health Science (MSHS) program has three concentration tracks, including sport performance, pediatric exercise science and rehabilitative science. This program is designed for bachelors-prepared individuals who are employed as strength coaches, personal trainers, certified athletic trainers, military personnel, coaches and/or physical educators, (to name a few) who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree related to their respective profession. Preference is given to individuals with two years of professional experience in an exercise science, sport performance, healthcare or occupational performance related area, or who are licensed or certified as a fitness professional from a National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA) accredited organization (e.g. ACE, ACSM, IFPA, NASM, NCSF, NETA, NFPT, NSCA or Cooper Institute).

The MSHS program is fully online, and is designed for students to be able to continue professional work obligations during the three-semester didactic portion of the program. To complete each degree program, students may choose either a Capstone Project or a Master's Thesis. The Capstone project is scheduled to be completed and defended during the fourth semester and the Master's Thesis to be completed over the fourth and fifth semesters of the program. The oral defense of both options can be completed either on-campus or online.
