Coach Threatens to Sue
In Hawai'i, Kahuku High School Head Boys' Basketball Coach Alan Akina threatened to sue the school's athletic director and some players' parents after he was placed on indefinite leave. Akina has been criticized for favoring his sons over other players on the team.

Starting in August, William Carey University will offer scholarships to student-athletes who participate on the school's new archery team. “There are 400 high schools in Mississippi that have archery teams, and if we don’t do it, they’re going to go somewhere else,” said University President Tommy King.
